Polypropylene comes in sheet form and can be printed on by use of Flat
bed digital press.
A Polypropylene brand name is Priplak. Polypropylene or
“Priplak” can be punched, perforated, sewn, welded
and creased. Objects as complex as a mannequin can be constructed by
creative use of cutting, creasing and bending. Plastic rivets can hold
shapes in position. Printing on the reverse face of polypropylene
protects ink from scuffing. Thickness of Polypropylene starts at aprox
250 micron.
The image to the left
shows reverse printed frosted polypropylene. Each section was cut with
slots to enable a three dimensional table top display to be created.
The finished product was visually striking and very stable.
