How do you create and lay a floor graphic that flows over an area 17 metres by 25 metres?
This is the question asked of Kingfisher as part of a unique chamber
music hall build in the Manchester Museum. The stunning concert area
was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects as part of the Manchester
International Festival series of events. The floor graphic was fitted
in sections which had to meet exacting standards of quality, be sized
accurately as part of the overall build and meet tight deadlines for
installation. A heavy duty anti slip laminate was used as the floor
graphic formed a walkway and stage set so had to be robust enough to
stand heavy footfall. The music hall can be viewed at Manchester Art
Gallery until the 31st August 2009.
